This unassuming modified cape sits on a wooded lot with a gently sloping trail down to a lake in Central Maine. The main floor has a very open feel with a porch wrapping around the entire back. Upstairs is the master suite with an outdoor deck and there are two other bedrooms with a full back in the walk-out basement. The clients believe that Maine people don't really use the front door, so they utilized this 'area' for a bath and installed a nicer window to compliment the exterior. Their front door is the connector between the main house and the garage. By designing the house this way, the front door did not cost a huge $ amount, and go unused, as many houses do. The three floor garage has a workshop below, a two car garage on the main level and a future apartment on the 2nd floor. The clients were organized and willing to listen and learn. The end result is a lovely, comfortable dream home.
